Dallas, TX – [Aug. 23, 2025] – One Voice Dallas, part of the internationally acclaimed One Voice Conference USA, welcomed Emmy-winning producer and talent manager Jonathan Reiner to its lineup of industry leaders this year. Reiner, co-founder of The PaRè Way: Artist & Talent Management, delivered one of the event’s most moving sessions, sharing his personal journey with progressive hearing loss and how he is turning vulnerability into strength.
Reiner’s featured session, “When Life Hands You Lemons, You Get Hearing Aids,” challenged attendees to consider what it means to thrive when life throws a monkeywrench in your master plan. Speaking candidly about his diagnosis — stemming in part from a benign brain tumor — and the shame he grapples with, Reiner brought an honesty to the stage that you rarely hear from agents or managers. His message: setbacks don’t define us; how we adapt and rise does.
“I wanted to ‘own’ my condition and share a message that goes beyond the guidance you usually hear at VO conferences,” said Reiner. “ I love being a part of the VO world, so I feel an obligation to ‘feel the shame and do it anyway’ and, just maybe, serve as an example for those in our community who are dealing with similar traumas.”
Reiner’s talk traced his lifelong reliance on listening — from blasting his Walkman on noisy New York subways to producing television with headphones in chaotic control rooms. Losing that ability was devastating, but it also forced him to redefine how he identifies himself in the entertainment industry. Beyond his personal story, he offered a roadmap for anyone facing career-altering challenges: acknowledge the truth, take care of your health, lean into your strengths, and be transparent with your allies. He emphasized the importance of community, vision, and resilience — reminding talent that adversity can become the foundation of a more powerful, authentic career.
